OURF's Annual Fundraiser 2013 - Up the River
The Orang Utan Republik Foundation (OURF) will be holding its annual fundraising event on Sunday, July 28th, 2013 (5-8pm). After rain forced the postponement of our Fall 2012 fundraiser, we are re-booting the system and gearing up for a fabulous event this summer. We want you to join us as we celebrate orangutans and enjoy ourselves while raising funds for OURF's important conservation education programs in Indonesia.
Once again, we are pleased that Ed Begley Jr. will be joining us as well as Fritz Coleman, NBC's local weatherman and our emcee for the evening. Both have shown their concern for the environment and for wildlife over the years. Besides acting, Ed continues to champion environmental issues, particularly sustainability and energy conservation. Fritz is uberbusy with various causes in addition to his duties informing southern Californian's about the weather. Also joining us will be veteran actor, Bruce Dern. Bruce has played fascinating characters in over 80 films and 60 television programs or series. Orangutans are very lucky that all these men support their cause.
We are holding the fundraiser at the home of Syd and Linda Leibovitch, owners of Rodeo Realty. The Leibovitch's are supporters of many causes, and we are delighted at their generosity in hosting us on their Beverly Hills property.
The fundraiser will also have quality entertainment. Ethnic dancers and musicians have graced our events in the past. We plan to have a mixture of music, dance, and more. The planning committee is finalizing the lineup of talent planned for late afternoon affair.
Guests will have a chance to enjoy delicious food and drink, but the real purpose is to raise much-needed funds. In addition to ticket sales, OURF will hold a silent auction and live auction that evening. Those who had already paid in advance for the postponed 2012 fundraiser will not be required to purchase tickets unless they so choose. We encourage anyone to come, whether they are familiar with the dire circumstances under which orangutans exist today, or simply want to learn more about the issue.
Tickets are available through Eventbrite. The VIP level has two tier options, including a private reception with our distinguished celebrities before the general reception (5-5:30pm). Ticket holders at the general reception and student/children level will be admitted at 5:30pm. We anticipate the fundraiser will conclude at 8:00pm.
To respect the privacy of our hosts, the address of the venue is reserved only for people who RSVP in advance with the purchase of tickets. For more information and for tickets, go to http://uptheriverfundraiser-efbevent.eventbrite.com.
We look forward to seeing you at our annual fundraising event.
