jptaylor1222 January 2011 - Santa Monica, CA. Orang Utan Republik Foundation (OURF) has been raising funds to benefit the conservation education initiatives in North Sumatra for several years. Now, singer/songwriter JP Taylor, has produced a downloadable album, "Make a Difference" as a way to benefit OURF and its programs. One of the songs, "Being an Orangutan", was a collaborative creation by writer/professor Shawn Thompson ("The Intimate Ape") and JP Taylor.

OURF President Gary Shapiro was pleased to learn of JP Taylor's project of putting six environmentally inspiring songs into the benefit album. "The Orang Utan Republik Foundation is grateful for JP's generosity to its mission of saving orangutans through education," said Shapiro. According to the website hosting the album, 100% of the profits from the sale of the album will go to OURF.

Raising environmental awareness and having fun is what JP Taylor's songs are about. His audience spans the spectrum of ages. Sometimes his songs are whimsical but they are always thought provoking. He has composed songs about nature, endangered species, rain forest destruction, and what people can do to make a difference. The album, "Make a Difference," has the following tracks: "Every Little Thing," "Care Enough," "Being an Orangutan," "Rise to the Challenge," "I Can Make a Difference," and "When You Look at the World."

OURF supporters are encouraged to visit the website, CDBaby, to preview the songs and to consider purchasing the album for themselves or others they care about. Besides bringing joy and inspiration to someone, they will also be helping OURF continue its programs of education and conservation in Sumatra.
